Fear of the fire alarm disappeared thanks to biofeedback therapy

Moonika, mother of a 4-year-old child

My 4-year-old child developed a severe fear of the fire alarm at kindergarten because it would suddenly go off several times due to a malfunction.

Initially, the kindergarten teacher was able to calm him down, but eventually, she couldn’t. The situation worsened, and he developed a phobia.

He would have a panic attack just seeing the fire alarm.

He refused to go to the puppet theatre or even shopping malls because the sight of fire alarm bells triggered his panic attacks. We sought help from a child psychologist and other specialists, but the desired change didn’t occur. Various play therapies were also tried, but they didn’t work in his case either. Then, I decided to try MER Biofeedback® therapy.

After the therapy session, my child agreed to go into the room with the fire alarm.

Although he was a little scared, he was able to enter the room without experiencing a panic attack. A few days after the session, he was much better and no longer afraid of the fire alarm bell, whether at kindergarten or in shopping malls. The fear was gone. He only needed MER Biofeedback® therapy once. We highly recommend MER Biofeedback® therapy for other children with fears and phobias.
